Ingredients

  • 10 g fresh broccoli sprouts
  • 200 g ripe pineapple flesh, cut into chunks
  • 1 medium banana (about 120 g peeled)
  • 170 g plain yogurt made from pasteurized milk
  • 120 ml cold drinking water
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Read the raw-sprout warning first. Do not serve the raw-sprout version to children, pregnant people, older adults or people with weakened immune systems. For a sprout-free version, omit the 10 g sprouts and use 10 g additional pineapple.
  2. Check the sprouts are broccoli sprouts from a refrigerated food product, not broccoli microgreens or mature florets. Follow package storage directions and discard recalled or deteriorating sprouts. Use yogurt made from pasteurized milk.
  3. Wash hands and clean the blender jar, lid, utensils and preparation surfaces. Rinse sprouts under cool running water and drain. Rinsing cannot reliably remove bacteria inside or on sprouted seed. Wash pineapple rind and lime before cutting so the knife does not transfer surface dirt into the flesh.
  4. Add water, yogurt, pineapple, banana, lime juice and the drained sprouts to the blender. Secure the lid and blend for 30 to 60 seconds, stopping to scrape down with the motor off if necessary, until evenly blended.
  5. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately. Blending, acidic fruit and freezing are not pathogen-killing steps; this remains a raw-sprout preparation. Do not leave it out for more than 2 hours, or 1 hour above 90°F (32°C).
  6. Wash the blender and utensils promptly after use. Prepare only the amount you intend to drink; do not treat this smoothie as a preserved or shelf-stable beverage.

A small culinary amount, not a supplement dose

Broccoli sprouts can have a sharp flavor, so this recipe uses only 10 g across two small servings. That amount is a flavor choice, not a medical dose or a guarantee of safety. The recipe makes no detox, cancer-prevention or weight-loss claims.

Sprout-free option

Omit the sprouts and add 10 g more pineapple. Keep the pasteurized yogurt and clean preparation steps. Do not replace sprouts with a powder unless its manufacturer explicitly identifies it as ready to eat and provides appropriate instructions.

Texture and allergens

Fresh pineapple and banana produce a pourable drink without ice. Add a little extra water if your blender needs it, noting that the final yield will change. The listed recipe contains milk; a dairy-free substitution changes both allergens and nutrition and needs its own label check.
